GSK is currently looking for Data Engineer to join our team in Upper Merion, PA. This role is pivotal for the enablement and optimization of data through the management of existing systems and the development of innovative solutions. It demands a diverse set of technical skills, including proficiency in computer programming, systems integration, data analytics, and information systems management. The candidate is expected to not only administer current systems but also to devise strategies that enhance data utility via aggregation, visualization, and analysis. This position involves regular maintenance of established systems and the introduction of new, efficient solutions. Solutions will predominately be developed using Microsoft product suite, including but not limited to Azure, Sharepoint/teams and Power Platform. The individual will cater to the data requirements of various site departments, developing solutions that add value or assist in making GSK's site-based and cloud-based data lakes more accessible and understandable. Furthermore, the role includes facilitating the site's transition to cloud-based solutions, either through migration strategies or by replacing existing applications with cloud-compatible alternatives. This comprehensive approach ensures that data management is both effective and forward-thinking, aligning with the evolving technological landscape and the site strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to site stakeholders for development and deployment of applications and visuals with MS Power Platform
- Performs routine administration and maintenance of Information systems and applications.
- Position will support CPV (Continuous Process Verification) program for Biologics manufacturing process.
- Evolve current on-prem systems to Cloud-based solutions
- Position will support projects using analysis methods including classical and multivariate statistics and machine learning.
- Configures and maintains manual data entry forms and associated workflows for reviews/approvals/edits
- Performs configuration updates and maintenance to analysis configurations & report configurations to support ongoing trending & monitoring
- Executes testing to support validation for changes to GMP configurations/interfaces
- Supports break/fix root cause analysis of issues identified with Process Informatics computer systems
- Work in a way that models respect for safety and EHS, quality compliance, data integrity, and engineering standards.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Statistics or equivalent technical discipline
- Minimum of 1 year of technical experience in Data Engineering and Analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Technical
- Exposure and interest in computer systems and databases
- Preferred: Visual Basic Programming (or similar programming experience)
- Preferred: Experience with Structed Query Language (SQL)
- Preferred: Experience with HTML
- Preferred: Experience with STATISTICA (or similar experience using SAS, JMP, Minitab, Discoverant, and/or SIMCA)
Data Analytics
- General quantitative training and experience through an engineering curriculum or similar in college or self-study
- Preferred: Power BI certification PL-300
